Zentangle is relaxation/meditation that comes from drawing simple patterns, put together into complicated-looking designs. The patterns are taught step by step, and the types of lines used are flexible. You can draw curved, straight, bumpy, or jagged lines.
Zentangle requires no artistic ability, but many artists are using it for relaxation and quick access to creativity. People who “can’t draw a straight line” have great fun learning Zentangle because there are no mistakes. Especially important is the philosophy that we don’t compare our zentangles to others’; they are representations of our meditation. We do, however, appreciate what others have done and learn from each other.
